Swansea Repair Space

Repair, Reuse, Learn

Swansea Repair Space helps local people keep household items in use for longer by offering free community repair services. Rather than throwing away broken items, we help residents repair them, learn new skills, save money, and reduce waste.

Based at The Environment Centre on Pier Street, Swansea Repair Space is run by a fantastic team of volunteer repairers who give their time and expertise to help the community.

Whether it's a faulty electrical item, a torn piece of clothing, a bicycle that needs attention, or a treasured household object, we'll always do our best to help.

Why Repair?

Every year thousands of perfectly repairable items end up in landfill. Repairing instead of replacing:

  • Reduces waste and carbon emissions

  • Saves money

  • Conserves valuable materials and resources

  • Helps build practical repair skills

  • Supports a circular economy

  • Brings people together through shared knowledge and community action

Repair is one of the simplest and most effective ways we can reduce our environmental impact.

What Can We Repair?

Our volunteer fixers regularly work on:

  • Small electrical appliances

  • Computers and technology

  • Clothing and textiles

  • Jewellery and ornaments

  • Basic bicycle maintenance and repairs

  • Household items and gadgets

  • Toys and hobby equipment

Not sure if we can help? Get in touch and ask.

Items We Cannot Repair

For safety and insurance reasons we are unable to repair:

  • Microwave ovens

  • White goods such as washing machines and fridges

  • Commercial equipment

  • Safety equipment
