London to Swansea Cyclists!

They've Done it - They are Home!

In the summer of 2010 seven intrepid cyclists got on their bikes in aid of the Environment Centre.

bikerideIf you were traveling from London to Swansea and wanted to be green you might  take the train or a bus, but three men from Swansea wanted to do it the hard way - and cycle!

Our team of intrepid cyclists undertook an epic cycle ride from London to Swansea.

The 250(260 in the end) mile cycle  along minor roads and cycle tracks.

Environment Centre trustees David Judd, Alan Kreppel & Brian Pawson set off from London on 12th August and were joined by four of the Centre's supporters. The team of seven arived home on Tuesday 17th August.

This picture shows our three trustees at Swansea station, about to board the train for London. From the left Brian Pawson, Alan Kreppell and David Judd.

They left the House of Commons in London on 12th August.

The picture on the left shows them with Peter Hendy (Transport Commissioner for London). Mr Hendy came to offer his support and to show off one of the new bicycles that are now available for hire in London.

Below are some pictures from the journey.

Anbother group of our supporters ran The Swansea 10k in September 2011. More on our Swansea 10k page HERE
