Mres in Recycling Technology
IThe Course:
In September 2001 Swansea University introduced a new one year MRES course in Recycling Technology. The Centre helped to fund this innovative new course, through its Waste Initiative project. This partnership has continued with the Centre now sitting on the Steering Group for the course and acting as a project partner for the research placements.
The course aims to provide the technical knowledge and skills required for the recycling industries, as well as an understanding of the business, economic and legal pressures of manufacturing.
This MRes is the first postgraduate degree scheme directly in recycling, and it places Swansea at the forefront of training in the recycling technology field. A collaborative research project comprises approximately two thirds of the degree course. It is normally linked to an industrial or commercial collaborator and involves an in-depth programme of research on a recycling/environmental topic suggested by, and of direct relevance to, the company.
Course change for 2009-10
The subjects previously covered by this course arenow part of the University's Environmental Management Masters.
